FAQs
How do I book a class?
We use a service called TeamUp to manage our class bookings. You’ll need to buy a class package on our site here (or on TeamUp directly) and then book the class you want to take here (or on TeamUp directly). You can also purchase a single drop-in class on that class’s page. The booking window for classes opens 30 days before the scheduled class start time.
Can I share classes from my class package with my partner or friends?
Yes you can, though it currently isn’t possible to do this yourself within TeamUp. Have your partner or friend(s) create an account and sign our wavier using this link, and then email us (info@helltown.fit) with their name and class you’d like them to join. We’ll then add them to the class (or waitlist if the class is full) and deduct a credit from your package.
Do you have an app?
Yes! TeamUp has an app that you can use to buy and book classes on iOS and Android.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you’re booked into a class and then cancel 12 hours before class starts, you’ll keep your credit and be able to use it for another class in the future (or get a refund if you purchased a single drop-in class). If you cancel within 12 hours of the start of class or don’t show up for class, you’ll lose the credit and won’t get a refund. If you aren’t able to make class within 12 hours of the start time, it is still helpful for us if you late cancel, because then someone on the waitlist might be able to take the spot.
How does the waitlist work?
If you are on the waitlist and a space opens up over 12 hours before class starts, you’ll be automatically added to class (and get an email to confirm you’ve been added). If it’s within 12 hours of the class start time and someone late cancels, and you’re next on the waitlist, you’ll get an email asking if you still want to go and 30 minutes to decide. If you take no action, the spot will then be offered to the next person on the waitlist.
What should I bring?
Please bring a sweat towel, a water bottle, wristbands (optional — they can be helpful for movements like cleans; we have some available for purchase for $4 if you don't have any), a fun-loving attitude, and a desire to achieve your goals. And you might want to bring your wallet – the Crown & Anchor has an excellent brunch available after class Thursday through Sunday.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable athletic clothes that you can move around in, and sneakers for our Shred and Strength classes.
What if it rains?
No sweat! All of our classes are indoors in Paramount nightclub at the Crown & Anchor. We were initially teaching classes outside, but found that inside, with more space and air conditioning, provided a better experience.
Do I need previous Kettlebell experience?
Previous kettlebell experience is welcome and helpful but not required. We will teach you the foundational movements and combine them with standard movements to keep you safe and sweaty. Any skills that prove too challenging or too new can be substituted with other movements that target the same areas and intentions.
What can I expect in Class?
When you arrive at class (please aim to show up 10 minutes before class starts), you can expect to be greeted by a coach who will direct you to the equipment area to choose your kettlebells, resistance bands, and mat to work out on. Each class will include a warm-up, a strength and conditioning main element, and a cool down. After class you will wipe down your mat, return your equipment and then can get on with your day. Overall, expect to sweat, laugh, grunt, giggle and most importantly leave feeling accomplished and strong.
